I won’t talk about the golden history of Bihar, or the superior Bihari IAS, IPS lobby, but want to let know some facts to Mr. Naik. Bihar’s situation started to deteriorate in the English Raj only. The East India Company started its business...

I totally agree that we should stop differentiating them as beggars but the fact is that they lack basic etiquettes. I have a neighborhood encompassing three Bihari Families and I cant just tell you the way my morning begins. I normally prefer listening to some pepped up music on tolerable decibels early morning but I never get a chance to do so for some real abrasive music relating to ’Cholee’ and ’Angiya’ eat up on my peace of mind gathered through the night, courtesy, my bizarre neighbors. We invested heavily to make an adorable house and our neighbors from Bihar have made it a living hell to the limit where we have to go looking for a new accommodation. I just hate them, irrespective of what you think about me. They are worse then beggars for you cant even turn them away like mongers. No number of police complaints, personal warnings or gestures of appreciation work with them . Hooligans is the word.

I think any poorly educated person in India lacks basic civil sense and etiquettes. The whole of Kolkata has turned into a spitbin! And blaring music and loud festivities make it worse...

Dear friend,
Not long ago,a British diplomat had accused Indian community of throwing garbage and polluting British soil.Incidents of ethnic clashes in Australia,USA and other european states are happening quite frequently. However it can be seen easily that Bihari people are working as cheap labourer in various parts of country. Whatever they earn, they earn with pride. But as it is happening all around the globe,it does not come as a big surprise to listen denigrating remarks against poor people of Bihar. If we say Biharis are beggars then Americans and British have every right to display signboard ”DOGS AND INDIANS ARE NOT ALLOWED”.

What makes you less bizarre than your Bihari neighbours? You both love to listen some music in the morning. That brings you in equal footing. The genre you like might differ from the genre they like. But that is irrelevant. You are no less or more than them.

And as far as tolerable decibels is concerned, some like it soft, some like it loud. I have some sardar neighbours and they play loud Punjabi music that I hate from the bottom of my heart. Some of the numbers are obscene and lewd to say the least. Luckily the local Kannadigas also like loud music and since they don't understand what the Punjus are playing, they haven't thrashed them up yet.

Instead of criticizing others, it’s time to be a little bit smarter. Moreover on comment of intelligence do I need to say anything? Just do one thing go and get your stats right to check what % of Biharis are there in IIT and in IAS, IPS league. The Congress party should immediately sack this minister who is not even willing to admit his mistake by uttering something very unparliamentarily against the sons of Indian soil. Really... very shameful!

Biharis are conspicuous as lowly people because they are all over India doing menial work.
There is not even a single state in India where you won't find Bihari rickshaw-pullers, railway coolies, construction workers, farm workers, hawkers etc.
They are people out in the streets doing things Indians consider lowly.
This is typical Indian mentality.
They fail to notice that most of the bureaucrats and technocrats are Biharis too.
It is a matter of wrong perception.

Biharis may not be beggars but they are slum dwellers and they are the cause of most of the trouble. They stay in well knit groups and often are under Bihari goons engaged in anti-social behavior. They are always ready to cause trouble.

To be able to live in a alien place, these Biharis have to live in groups and be united and be aggressive to survive. So you see, they are not to be blamed but the system is to be blamed. In places like Mumbai, if the Biharis pull out at once, the local Marathis would would replace them in their lowly professions would be much tougher nuts because they would be Marathis from outside Mumbai and yet you can't call them outsiders.

The problem starts with Bihar and Biharis have been a victim. Due to the lack of development in Bihar with perennially corrupt governments ruling the state, job opportunities have become fewer and fewer. Lack of literacy, and poor farm management drove the poor Biharis seek livelihood elsewhere.

First of all, a question arises whether such derogatory remarks put forward by some of my friends wouldn’t make India a country where regionalism reigns supreme?
If yes, then there is a need for some sort of urgency to change this mindset which segregates Indians into Biharis, Himachalis, Maharashtrians, and so on.
Above all. we’re Indians and we should be proud of it. Casting aspersions on others reveal how hollow and senseless we are.

Biharis are partially to be blamed for the prejudice against them.
a) Despite being one of the most politically aware people in India they couldn’t bring themselves above caste politics.
b) They could not bring about a change in Bihar to crub the flow of economic migrants to other states.
c) They have set very bad examples by getting involving in crime and hooliganism elsewhere. But I would like to agree somewhat with Hiten’s argument.

Dearest BRAJESH I somehow cannot resist comparing your mental frame of mind to them more than me. I long time back read in a readers digest that if someone appreciates a fools foolishness and then feels happy about it, he is the king of them all. Also, I read in the same magazine sometime later that a soothing trance early morning keeps your mind in a healthy state to do essential things through-out the day. Since I have been writing for the past three years, I intend to better the art with mind improving ways. I recommend you to listen to ANGIYA and CHOLIYA early morning and then have a blast with such hooligans whole day long. It is not education that makes the individual understand the importance of peaceful living, it is the way he chooses to be. I have a big gang of Nepalese people working in my orchards but even they don’t behave like this despite the same lack of education. Yes they do have a blast at night when they are drenched with sweat. But then it is much better thing to do for you can understand that they are tired and need a refreshing hour to raise their spirits.
More so my dear, my neighbors have the privilege of at least making it to the govt. schools and they still don’t seem to change a bit. The Nepalese kids are better.
I am no way against a Bihari at heart, but no individual has the right to torment another individual by his deeds. Had they lived in Harmony I would have gone all out to help them educate themselves better. It is their intent which is headbound to never accept a welcome change. They enjoy being Barbaric and love every moment of what they do.

Nice post.
Next to religion comes the regional politics in India. To gain political mileage people like Mr.Naik indulge in such shallow instigating remarks...Media needs to trudge carefully once again...
